Admitted to Hospital 1/23/08

Well, the doctor decided to put me in the hospital due to toxemia and high blood pressure. I have been here almost 2 weeks and I'm still hanging in there. The staff is excellent and I haven't killed anyone. The doctor says he wants me to have the c-section at 34 weeks which should be around 2/25 but we'll see what happens. The babies are doing very good and one weighs 3.9 lbs and the other weighs 3.14 lbs. Now when they kick my entire stomach bounces!!
If I make it to 34 weeks without going into labor, I will have been confined for 5 weeks. Gets pretty boring up here during the day. Joe comes to see me every evening so I just count down the time until his next visit.
Yesterday, 2/4/08 was our 2 year anniversary. I called in a few favors from my family and the hospital staff helped a bunch to plan a romantic dinner for Joe and I. The nurses got some nice dishes, cloth napkins, table cloth, and silverware from the cafeteria and set up a nice table in a separate room. The president of the hospital sent us white roses to put on our table, and my sister-in-law delivered take-out so I could surprise Joe. He was REALLY surprised. It couldn't have turned out better.
I wanted to thank everyone for their concern. Joe has tried to keep everyone updated via email and phone calls. I have not made very many phone calls because I just haven't been up to it. But I am doing very well and Joe will notify everyone upon the boys arrival!

Chelsea and Joe,

The nursery looks wonderful!! And I bet that short hair cut is really cute. That anniversary surprise dinner was such a romantic idea. You guys are so lucky to have each other. And, in a couple of weeks, you'll have two more miracles to celebrate. We're thinking about you. Thank you so much to Joe for keeping us up to date via email.
